SANTA CRUZ CASA CALIBRI
This historic home in the gorgeous Victorian district of Santa Cruz has old and whimsical stories to tell! The current owners are gardeners, musicians and art collectors, among other things, and they have recently overhauled the grounds to become more functional and aesthetically vibrant throughout. The front yard pays homage to the Victorian era of the home, whereas the back yard is full of vivacious color, new textures and is a plant lover's treasure chest. For those who love Halloween, some of the varieties chosen were "Dragon's Blood", "Red Rum", "Hot Lips" and "Dead Man's Finger's!" However ominous the names of the plants are, the Owners and their family, and the local wildlife, including many hummingbirds, for which this home was originally named, love the gardens through and through. (We even found a tiny tropical ("Poisonous Dart") frog found in one of the new garden beds...)
