Leah Drake, RLA; Principal
Leah has always had an eye for the exciting aesthetics of outdoor spaces. Involved in the Landscape Design profession since 1985, she has been practicing in the Bay Area since 1991. A graduate of the Landscape Architecture Program at UC Berkeley, with a focus on sustainable design, Leah’s successful career repertoire spans a variety of projects, from ecological habitat restoration design, to detailed master plans for public and private spaces. Behind her passion is her commitment to a lifelong mission of creating artful outdoor spaces that are sanctuaries for both humans and wildlife; helping to restore ecological balance, while giving people the opportunity to connect with nature in an intimate way. With a background in the Liberal Arts and dance, Leah brings to the profession a love for collaboration and team work. She is well versed in construction terminology and procedures, and enjoys formulating intelligent and beautiful solutions in a diversity of situations. Specialties include sustainable site planning, water conservation, artistic outdoor furnishings, lighting, and local native plants. Leah is a member of the ASLA (American Society of Landscape Architects), the Silicon Valley Chamber of Commerce, and an affiliate of the US Green Building Council.

Jon Clark and Leah Drake began working together in 1998, and Jon's astute design expertise is essential at the Drake Design studio. He brings an upbeat and unstoppable enthusiasm along with high quality craftsmanship and years of building skills to the design table. Aesthetics with functionality is a combination that has fascinated Jon since he was a kid growing up on the SF Peninsula. Raised around the trades professions, he has always been intrigued by the technical aspects of construction and has developed an aptitude for understanding how to successfully balance form and function. Over time he also witnessed the effects of those who weren't as concerned with the longevity of their work; and has made a commitment to provide the best long term value to his clients. Licensed since 1993 he's gained tremendous experience performing a wide range of interesting and creative work and is always eager to try something new or different, whatever the project may call for. Clients have come to expect Jon's commitment to complete projects that are beautiful, function well, and last over time.
